Make a Donation

​The Local Elections Act outlines the rules governing campaign contributions. Candidates cannot accept anonymous donations.

Alberta residents and corporations may contribute up to $5,000 to a municipal election candidate.

When it is $50 or more, candidates are required to record the name and address of the contributor as part of their campaign disclosure statements.

The Local Elections Authorities Act requires candidates to disclose financial contributions before the election.
